Your Kemo IPTV login can be used in two ways: as an Xtream Codes login (server, username, password) or as a single M3U playlist link. This guide focuses on the M3U route: how the link is built, how to check it works before you touch your TV, and how to add an M3U playlist in the apps people in the UK use most.
If your app offers an Xtream Codes option, use that instead. It is shorter to type and loads the TV guide on its own. Keep reading if your app only accepts a playlist link, which is common on Samsung and LG TVs.
What an M3U playlist link looks like
An M3U link is simply your login details packed into one web address. Most services, including Kemo IPTV, use this structure:
http://SERVER:PORT/get.php?username=YOURUSER&password=YOURPASS&type=m3u_plus&output=ts
| Part | What it means | What goes wrong |
|---|---|---|
SERVER:PORT | The address and port from your activation message | Port missing, or https used instead of http |
username / password | Your account details, case sensitive | Extra space, wrong capital letter |
type=m3u_plus | Includes channel logos and group names | Changed to m3u, so groups disappear |
output=ts or m3u8 | Stream format | Some apps play only one of the two |
Tip: if a Smart TV app shows channels but they never start, swap output=ts for output=m3u8 (or the other way round) and reload the list. This single change fixes a surprising number of “playlist loads but nothing plays” cases.
Test your M3U playlist before adding it
Most failed setups are not app problems but a broken link. Test it first on a phone or computer, it takes one minute:
- Paste the full link into a browser address bar. A working link usually downloads a small file or shows a long list of lines starting with
#EXTINF. - An error page or an empty file means the username, password or server is wrong, or the account has expired.
- To check the account itself, open
http://SERVER:PORT/player_api.php?username=YOURUSER&password=YOURPASS. You should see text containing"status":"Active"and an expiry date. If the status is not Active, no app will play.
Do this test on your own device only, and never share the result, because it contains your login.
How to get a long link onto your TV
Typing a 120-character link with a remote is where most people give up. Use one of these instead:
- Upload on the app’s website. Smart TV apps such as SIPTV and IBO Player let you paste the link on their site using your TV’s MAC address. See the SIPTV setup guide.
- Use a phone keyboard. The Fire TV and Google TV phone apps act as a keyboard, so you can paste the link.
- Use Xtream Codes. Three short fields are much easier than one long link.
How to add an M3U playlist in each app
TiviMate (Firestick, Android TV, Google TV)
- Choose Add playlist, then M3U playlist.
- Paste the link, select Next and wait for the channels to load.
- If the TV guide is empty, add an EPG source in settings or switch to the Xtream Codes option.
IPTV Smarters Pro
- Choose Load your playlist or file/URL.
- Give the playlist a name, pick M3U URL and paste the link.
- Select Add user.
SIPTV and IBO Player (Samsung, LG)
Open the app on the TV to see its MAC address, add the link on the app’s website, then restart the app. Full steps are in the SIPTV guide.
VLC (Windows, Mac)
Open Media > Open Network Stream, paste the link and press Play. VLC has no TV guide, so it is best for a quick test rather than daily viewing.
Adding the TV guide (EPG)
An M3U link carries channels, not always the guide. If your guide is blank:
- In TiviMate and similar apps, add the EPG link from your activation message under Settings > EPG.
- Check the app time zone is set to UK time, otherwise programmes appear an hour out when the clocks change.
- Give large guides a few minutes to download the first time.
Common M3U problems and fixes
| What you see | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| “Invalid playlist” or 0 channels | Link cut off when copied | Copy the whole link again, from http to the last character |
| Groups missing, one long list | type=m3u instead of m3u_plus | Use the m3u_plus version of the link |
| Channels load but do not play | Stream format not supported | Swap ts and m3u8 in the link |
| Worked yesterday, empty today | Subscription expired or password changed | Run the player_api check above |
| “Max connections” | Another device is streaming | Stop the other stream; standard plans allow one device at a time |
If the link works in a browser but still fails in the app, the problem is the app. Try the Xtream Codes login or a different player, as explained in our login types guide.
Keep your playlist link private
Anyone with your M3U link can use your account, which will cause “max connections” errors for you. Don’t post screenshots of it, don’t paste it into public forums, and remove it from old devices you no longer use. If you think it has been shared, ask support for a new password; the old link stops working straight away.
FAQ
Is M3U or Xtream Codes better?
Xtream Codes is usually better: shorter to type, loads films and series, and brings the TV guide automatically. Use M3U when an app accepts nothing else.
Can I use the same link on two devices?
You can add it to several devices, but a standard plan streams on one device at a time.
Why does my link start with http and not https?
Most IPTV servers use http on a custom port. Changing it to https usually breaks the link.
